Dr. Rund Awwad is an energy expert with over two decades of experience working at the nexus of energy efficiency, policy, and renewable integration for resilient urban development. She applies passive and climate-adaptable design strategies within innovative business models to advance decarbonisation, strengthen energy security, and drive market transformation toward sustainable and sovereign energy futures.
A recognised voice in international energy dialogue, Dr. Awwad has shared insights on BBC, Cairo News, and Al Jazeera English, and her commentary has appeared in The Cradle, The Jordan Times, 7iber, Al-Ghad and Middle East Eye.
Throughout her career, she has collaborated with organisations including UNESCO, UNDP, the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE), and the Dubai Police Academy. Locally she served as CEO of EDAMA, the business association for energy, water and the environment.
In 2015, she was selected as a TechWomen Emerging Leader by the U.S. Department of State and completed an engineering fellowship in Building Technologies at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, University of California, Berkeley. During that time, she collaborated with global innovators such as Facebook, Mozilla, LinkedIn, and Autodesk, and received a grant from the International Institute of Education (IIE) to advance green energy initiatives.
Throughout her academic journey, she conducted field studies at La Sapienza University of Rome in partnership with ENEL Power, examining Italy’s largest renewable and conventional power facilities. In 2020, her achievements were recognised in Australia with a Research Excellence Award, the most prestigeous distinction for doctoral scholars across academic institutions. During her master’s studies, she graduated at the top of her class and was recognised as the first graduate from a national university to specialise in energy. Her academic work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and scientific databases.
Dr. Awwad is an advocate for energy policy reform. She ran for Jordan’s 18th Parliament on a platform championing energy efficiency and led a campaign that resonated with a diverse, forward-thinking electorate eager for change.
Over a decade ago, she founded one of Jordan’s first independent energy consultancies to fill a critical market gap. Today, that vision has evolved into IMKAN Energy, an engineering consultancy and think tank that brings together leading experts to serve as a reference for energy knowledge, innovation, and transition policy in Jordan & beyond.

Laith Al-Dasouqi is a renewable energy consultant and energy efficiency specialist whose work bridges technical expertise and sustainable solutions. He holds a Master of Science in Renewable Energy Engineering and Management from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg in Germany, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering from Al-Balqa’a Applied University in Jordan. His academic background reflects a commitment to advancing practical, innovative energy practices grounded in a strong technical foundation.
Currently operating as a freelance energy consultant, Laith provides expert guidance on energy efficiency audits, building energy modeling, and the integration of sustainable technologies. His consultancy work focuses on optimizing energy consumption for commercial and residential projects, with a strong emphasis on bioclimatic design and practical, energy-conscious strategies.
Laith’s expertise lies in renewable energy solutions, energy modeling, and energy efficiency assessments, supported by a holistic understanding of modern energy challenges. His contributions have spanned projects in Jordan, Germany, and Saudi Arabia, where he has been involved in retrofitting initiatives and the development of sustainability-focused interventions. Passionate about advancing the role of clean energy technologies, he continues to refine his skills in auditing, data analysis, and the application of innovative renewable energy solutions.
He is based in Amman, Jordan, and remains committed to promoting sustainable energy practices regionally and internationally.
MOHAMMAD SHEHADEH
Chief Commercial Officer | Renewable Energy Leader
Mohammad Shehadeh is a leading figure in the renewable energy sector, with over 17 years of experience driving major initiatives across the Middle East and North Africa. He has played a pivotal role in establishing the largest solar panel manufacturing facility in the region, positioning himself as a key contributor to the advancement of clean energy technologies.
He currently serves as Deputy General Manager, Chief Commercial Officer, and Partner at Philadelphia Solar Factory. His leadership extends to board roles, including Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Husseiniya Electricity Generation Company and Member of the Board of Directors of Al-Badiah Electricity Generation Company. Mohammad is also a founding member of the Jordan Economic Forum and actively contributes to energy standards development as a member of the Technical Committee for Energy within the Standards and Metrology institutions.
In addition to his professional roles, Mohammad is a Board Member at the Development Center for Creative Projects at the Jordan University of Science and Technology and at the Center for Environmental Studies and Renewable Energy at Applied Science Private University. He also serves on the Board of EDAMA and holds a shareholder and board membership position at Philadelphia Solar Construction.
Academically, Mohammad holds a master’s degree in Renewable Energy and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is a certified energy auditor accredited by the Association of Energy Engineers.

ALI NASRALLAH

Ali Nasrallah is a consulting manager at PwC’s Energy, Resources, and Sustainability practice, with over a decade of experience leading projects across renewable energy, climate policy, and sustainable infrastructure development. His work spans the MENA region and extends globally, where he specializes in energy transition strategies and stakeholder engagement within private, multilateral, and government frameworks.
He holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University, with a concentration in energy policy and climate change, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Jordan. This academic foundation equips him with the technical and policy-oriented expertise necessary to drive impactful change in the energy sector.
Throughout his career, Ali has led business readiness and regulatory compliance initiatives for utility acquisitions across the GCC, managed multimillion-dollar energy and infrastructure projects with the Islamic Development Bank in West Africa and supported energy sector reforms in Jordan and Tunisia. His international experience also includes work with the United Nations on thematic reviews connecting climate change and conflict.

ALI THARWAN
Engineering Manager at SABA Energy | Solar Energy Specialist
Ali Tharwan is a renewable energy engineer specializing in solar technologies and large-scale energy solutions. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering and has built a career focused on the design, installation, and management of solar power systems across the Middle East and Africa.
Currently serving as an Engineering Manager at SABA Energy, Ali leads efforts in system design, site inspections, safety compliance, and operations and maintenance (O&M) for commercial and industrial solar projects. His expertise spans across solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, ensuring optimal system performance and safety standards across diverse environments.
Passionate about clean energy transformation, Ali is committed to deepening his technical and project management expertise in solar systems, energy solutions, and the operations of large-scale solar plants. His long-term goal is to take on increasingly strategic roles in project execution and energy sector leadership.

GHAITH KHZAI
Director of Technical Centre for Power & Utility at Bureau Veritas | Renewable Energy and Smart Systems Expert
Ghaith Khzai is a leading figure in the renewable energy and power utility sectors across the Middle East and Caspian Sea regions, with a distinguished career spanning more than 24 years. His expertise encompasses the development and implementation of over 4.5 GW of photovoltaic plants, including both transmission-scale and distributed-generation systems, alongside a significant portfolio of grid modernization projects totaling more than 5.5 GW in installed capacity.
Currently, Ghaith serves as the Director of the Technical Centre for Power & Utility at Bureau Veritas Group, overseeing business operations in renewable energy, smart grids, and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) platforms. His role emphasizes technical and commercial leadership across digital systems, grid resilience, and energy infrastructure modernization.
Throughout his career, Ghaith has worked with major global players such as Siemens Energy, ABB Power Grid/Hitachi, NEPCO, EDCO, JEPCO, and Bureau Veritas, contributing to projects across the Arabian Peninsula, Caspian Sea countries, the Levant, and North Africa. His areas of specialty include project and program management, photovoltaic and battery energy storage system (BESS) solutions, smart grid platforms, ERP systems integration, high-voltage substation automation, and comprehensive power system protection studies.
Academically, Ghaith holds an APPS Master Certificate from Alstom-Grid Academy in collaboration with Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Power Technology.
Ghaith is also the Head of the Renewable Energy and Smart Systems Committee at the Jordanian Engineers Association (JEA), further strengthening his role as a regional thought leader in clean energy and digital infrastructure innovation.
